Cooperation with the Red Cross in relieving the victims of the Mississippi River flood is planned by the Independent Order B’nai B’rith, according to an announcement issued today by Alfred M. Cohen, president of the Order. Dr. Boris D. Bogen, executive secretary of the B’nai B’rith, has left for New Orleans where he will be joined by Archibald Marx of that city, and Leopold Strauss, of Montgomery, Ala., for a tour of the flood area.
This action is in line with the policy of the Independent Order B’nai B’rith which cooperated with the Red Cross and other relief agencies in bringing aid to persons rendered destitute by great disasters such as the Galveston flood and the Florida hurricane of last year.
The convention of District No. 7 of the I.O.B.B. which was to have been held in Memphis on Sunday and Monday of next week, has been indefinitely postponed because of the disruption of railroad traffic.
