International Refugee Organization headquarters in the American zone of Germany has protested to the U.S. Army against an American troop raid the Eschwege Camp last week during which a number of buildings were ransacked 100 displaced Jews arrested.
The Army later announced that a “huge arsenal” had been discovered in the camp Jewish officials point out that the eight rifles and several pistols discovered were unserviceable–old and rusted.
Meanwhile, Jewish DP’s in all camps and communities throughout the zone today to the polls to elect local camp officials. Last week they voted for representatives to a forthcoming congress at which members of the Central of Germany will be chosen.
