Recalling his thirty years of association with the ICA, with which he has been connected since soon after its foundation in 1891 by Baron de Hirsch for the aid of Jews in Eastern Europe, Sir Leonard said he regretted that his health demands his taking leave of the work.
“I feel confident, however, that the great trust is safe in your hands,” Sir Leonard said. His election as honorary president sets a precedent for the ICA.
