The Israel Defense Force continued to reshuffle its top ranks this week.
Brig. Gen. Amnon Shahak, currently chief of military intelligence, has been named deputy chief of staff in charge of the IDF’s operations branch.
Shahak will replace Lt. Gen. Ehud Barak when Barak takes over as chief of staff in April.
Shahak was commander of the Beirut area during the Lebanon war in 1982 and was later appointed commander of the central region.
