Approximately 300 leaders in the Orthodox and Reform Jewish community of Detroit were present at the opening of the $150,000 United Jewish Campaign at the Phoenix Club. Advance subscription of $60,000 were announced towards the quota to be raised during the weekending May 26.
The addresses delivered formed a symposium on Jewish education.
More than fifty local, national and international causes are cared for in the Detroit drive. The Hebrew schools get $63,000 of total and $35,000 is to go for foreign relief.
