Eleven factions will file lists of candidates for the Histadrut elections to be held Sept. 3, it was announced today. Five of the lists have not previously participated in elections to the governing bodies of Israel’s labor federation. The new lists represent the Free Center; Haloam Hazeh; a leftist coalition that defected from Mapam; the Rafi list headed by former Prime Minister David Ben Gurion and a Sephardic list. The regulars that will appear on the ballot are the Labor Party-Mapam alignment; the Gahal (Herut-Liberal alignment); the Independent Liberals; the regular Communist Party headed by Moshe Sneh and Shmuel Mikunis; the Moscow-oriented, pro-Arab New Communist Party and the Religious Workers party.
