Henry Pitzele, past grand master of the Independent Order Free Sons of Israel, was elected president of the Union of Jewish Fraternal Orders of Illinois for the coming year at the organization meeting of that body held at the Hotel Sherman last Sunday. Mr. Pitzele was vice-president of the Union for the past year. Jacob W. Schwartz, the retiring president, was unanimously elected honorary president.
More than 70 fraternal lodges in Illinois were represented by delegates at the meeting. The delegates present represented more than 20,000 members of fraternal organizations in this state.
