Several hundred immigrants who have been settled in Ramleh and Lydda demonstrated today on the main streets of Tel Aviv, carrying banners with the inscription, “Bread and Work.”

The demonstrators, who arrived here in buses and trucks, marched to Hakirya, seat of the government, with the intention of starting a sit-down strike in front of the Labor Ministry building. However, they dispersed quietly and returned to their places of residence when they were assured by a high official of the Labor Ministry that their claims will receive fair consideration.
