Instead of going up for a vote this week as expected, the Johnson Immigration Bill will be sidetract for the income tax bill, it is learned, today. Republican House majority leader Nicholas Longworth told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent today that it is certain the Bill will not be considered for about three weeks. Congressman Longworth verified the report that Congress La Guardia of New York had appeared before the Republican House Stirring Committee Saturday morning, opposing early consideration of the Immigration Bill and the Bill itself. Congressman La Guardia says that the Immigration Bill in its present form will never be permitted by Republican leaders in the House to come up for a vote at this session. The New York Congressman pointed out to the Stirring Committee that it would be disastrous to the Republican Party to debate the Johnson Bill.
