The importance of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency for the press in Israel was emphasized here by Gershon Shoken, publisher of Haaretz, a leading Israeli daily newspaper, and president of the Association of Israeli Editors, at a luncheon given by the Association in honor of Eleazar Lipsky, JTA president.
Louis Segal, member of the Jewish Agency executive, who is also a member of the JTA’s board of directors, spoke at the luncheon about the vital role which the Jewish Telegraphic Agency plays in serving as a link between Jewish communities throughout the world. Mr. Lipsky outlined JTA plans and problems at the gathering.
