An important archaeological discovery in the ancient city of Mizpah was made by Professor William Frederick Bade of Berkeley University. The city wall, five meters thick, probably erected in the bronze ### prior to the occupation of Palestine by the Israelites, was unearthed by the expedition of which Professor Bade is the head.
When interviewed today by the representative of the Jewish Telegraphic agency. Professor Bade stated that the excavation work at Mizpah was crowned with success. The wall uncovered represents an unprecedented fortification in Palestine. The outside face of the wall was constructed of Cyclopean tones and is an example of the bronze ### structure, not previously found in Palestine.
Within the wall, seven grain bins six ### deep, were uncovered. Two cave ###mlos, were discovered underneath the all, where were found a hundred jars, ###ps and other pottery dating back 2,000 ###ars before the Christian era. A cis### of solid limestone was unearthed. This is probably where Ishmael threw the body of Gedaliah after murdering ###.
