Conditions have improved recently in Israel for Jewish-Arab understanding and “there is more readiness lately in Arab intellectual circles for a dialogue” with Jews, a communique issued at the close of the Martin Buber Seminar at Givat Haviva ended last night.
The seminar was attended by a number of Israel Arabs, as well as by Jewish and foreign writers and philosophers. Archbishop George Hakim of Nazareth was the guest of honor at the closing session.
