Imre Heber, president of the Hungarian Jewish community, has been awarded the Golden Order of Labor for his communal activities. The award to the 60-year-old leader of the 60,000 member Jewish community, was announced over the Hungarian state-operated radio and television network. Heber has headed the Jewish community for the past nine years.
