In an effort to focus public attention on the plight of a specific prisoner each month, the Union of Councils for Soviet Jews has started a “Prisoner of the Month” program to acquaint the public with Soviet Jewish prisoners; Boris Penson, currently serving a 10-year term, is the December Prisoner of the Month.
