In the meantime, hundreds of letters, telegrams and resolutions are pouring into the offices of Senators requesting favorable action on the Tydings proposal.
Senator Walsh is hopeful that the Committee on Foreign Relations will report the resolution favorably to the Senate for a vote. Should this hope materialize, then Senate approval is virtually assured.
The Tydings resolution is a vital subject. Among many groups in Massachusetts, Senator Walsh recognizes this and is doing much to bring about the desired action.
Among the organizations in that state which have submitted resolutions to Senator Walsh requesting passage of the Tydings resolution are included the American Jewish Congress, the Boston city council, and the National Council of Jewish Women, all of Boston; the Brotherhood of Temple Ohabei Shalom, of Brookline; the Y.M. and Y.W.H.A., of Fitchburg; the Hebrew Community Center and Temple Beth El, and B’nai B’rith Lodge, both of Lowell; the National Council of Jewish Women, of New Bedford; Touro Lodge No. 814, B’nai B’rith, of Taunton, and the Worcester Lodge, B’nai B’rith.
