In Williamson, West Virginia, a town of ten thousand inhabitants and with a Jewish congregation recruited from about twenty five families, the construction of a synagogue is now under way.
It will cost in the neighborhood of $20,000 and funds have been contributed by the non-Jewish members of the community, as well as the Jewish population.
The synagogue will be completed by the early part of May.
