Income taxes in the fiscal year of 1956-57 yielded 180,000,000 pounds, an increase of 26,000,000 over the previous year, it was officially announced here today.
Some 432,000 taxpayers contributed to this record sum, including 270,000 salaried people, 149,000 self-employed Israelis and 6,370 companies. Security taxes added 43,000,000 pounds more to government revenues up to last March 31.
