Formation of Jewish army under its own flag and establishment of Palestine as a National Jewish State were called for last night in a resolution unanimously passed by delegates of 400 Jewish civic and benevolent societies affiliated to the Histadruth in a city-wide conference of the United Organizations for Palestine Pioneers held here.
Speaking for 100,000 members, the Conference declared: “We are proud of the heroic record of our Pioneers in Palestine. The Jewish workers, organized in the Histadruth, have created a remarkable cooperative society during the past twenty years.” The conference heard tributes to the late Justice Louis D. Brandeis and M. M. Ussishkin and an appeal to help raise $1,000,000 for Palestine pioneer work.
