Acting on the invitation of the Premier of India, the Israel Government decided to send Dr. Walter Eytan, director general of the Israeli Foreign Office, on a visit this week to New Delhi, it was officially announced here today.
The announcement said that Dr. Eytan’s visit to India was prompted by Israel’s desire “to foster relations with India.” This will be the first visit of an Israeli representative to India’s capital. The invitation to Dr. Eytan was received here about two weeks ago. No agenda is fixed for any discussions between him and members of the Government of India, it was stated.
