Indiana is leading the country in the percentage of payments to the United Jewish Campaign to date, it was disclosed in the latest returns to the National Headquarters of the United Jewish Campaign. Under the leadership of Louis J. Borinstein, chairman, Indiana collected 78% of entire sum pledged.
The State of Oregon, with Ben Selling as chairman, has also attained the figure of 78% on all pledges paid up.
Following Indiana and Oregon comes New York City with David M. Bresslerac acting chairman, and Paul Baerwald as treasurer. New York’s collection percentage is 76%. Chicago, with Jacob M. Loeb, chairman, has a record of 75% collected.
Seventy-five percent has also been achieved in the collections of Louisiana, headed by Rabbi Emil W. Leipziger, state chairman.
In Indiana 25 of its 65 communities have paid up 100% of the pledges made and 5 other communities have made payments of 90% and upwards.
