Three Palestinian terrorists attempting to infiltrate Israel through the border security zone in southern Lebanon were killed Monday in a clash with the Israeli-backed South Lebanon Army.
There were no SLA casualties in the clash, which occurred just north of the Israeli-controlled security zone.
Following the incident, Israel Defense Force infantry conducted a large-scale search operation north of the security zone, with armored and air support.
The operation was intended to root out terrorists from the region. A number of Lebanese villagers were detained and brought to Israel for questioning.
