President Roosevelt was formally notified today by a delegation representing the Zionist district of Richmond, Virginia, that his name had been inscribed in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund.
A certificate of the President’s enrolment in the Golden Book was presented at the White House by Rev. Louis Novick of Adas Israel Synagogue, Washington, who headed the delegation.
In connection with the presentation, it was pointed out that every American President since the time of President Woodrow Wilson has acclaimed the Zionist cause and extended to it his greetings, hopes and best wishes.
President Roosevelt, it was stressed, has recognized the significance of Palestine to the Jews. As a member of the Wilson administration, the President contributed much by wise counsel to the cause of Palestine.
