The Board of Deputies of British Jews today reported that although there has been an increase in fascist meetings in England at which anti-Jewish propaganda is being intensified, there has also been a lack of public support for this activity.
Foreign Minister Herbert Morrison has assured the Board of Deputies that one of the chief aims of the British government is to prevent any revival of Nazism which might become a threat to peace and democracy. Mr. Morrison’s statement was contained in an acknowledgment of a resolution sent him by the Board citing the growth of Nazism in Germany.
Anti-Jewish discrimination in employment, alleged against the Anglo-American oil Company, have been investigated by the Board of Deputies. Officials of the Anglo-American Oil Company were interviewed on the alleged discrimination, with the result that a now application form has been drafted, omitting the discriminatory reference to religion.
