News of the death of Dr. Gustav Kirstein, international known art authority, in Leipzig, Germany, on February 14 (reached New York during the weekend.
Dr. Kirstein, who died as a result of an apoplectic stroke, was sixty-four years old. He was a prolific writer on art subjects. His works included biographies of Max Klinger and Ad. Menzel, For many years he edited “Zeitschrift furer BIldence Kunst,” and “Kunstchronik.”
