An International Congress of Jewish Studies will take place here under the joint auspices of the Ministry of Education and the Hebrew University from July 28th to August 4th. The opening session will be addressed by President Itzhak Ben Zvi. A substantial part of the discussions will be devoted to the Dead Sea Scrolls.
More than 100 scholars from abroad, including several from Eastern Europe, have accepted invitations to attend. They will be joined by some 350 local scholars, including leading experts of the University’s Institute of Jewish Studies. Prominent foreign participants will include Prof. A.
