The Synagogue Council of America today announced that an international “Day of Memorial” for the Jews exterminated by the Nazis will be observed on January 11. The plan to proclaim an international day of mourning was initiated by the Council, which represents the Orthodox, Conservative and Reform Jewish religious groups in the United States, and was confirmed yesterday by cable by the office of the Chief Rabbinate in Israel.
