The International Farmers Convention, attended by more than 300 delegates from 32 countries, opened here tonight to discuss various farm problems. The convention, which will test seven days, is the final official international gathering marking Israel’s year-long celebration of its tenth anniversary.
Among the personalities who greeted the opening session, or attended the forma’ opening tonight, were President Itzhsk Ben Zvi; prime Minister David Ben Gurion; Minister of Agriculture Kaddish Luz; the Ministers of Agriculture of Belgium and Puerto Rico; Mayor Gershon Agron; and the Earl of Waldegrawe, parliamentary secretary to the British Ministry of Agriculture. Most of the delegates, who arrived before the opening of the convention, have already toured Israel as giants of Israeli farmers, and will continue their tours when the convention adjourns.
