A $1,000,000 loan to Israel from the International Ladies Garment Workers Union was approved here last night by the union’s general executive board. The loan will come out of the I.L.G.W.U.’s treasury.
The loan was requested by Mrs. Golda Meirson, a member of the Provisional Government of Israel who is now in the U.S. to obtain aid for the Jewish state. In announcing the loan, David Dubinsky, I.L.G.W.U. president, declared: “We have faith and confidence in the stability of Israel, and it is the desire of our members to assist wholeheartedly in this critical period of the young state’s existence,”
