The International Monetary Fund, a United Nations agency with headquarters at Washington, will make available to the United Arab Republic an additional drawing of $42, 500, 000, Egyptian Minister of Economy Abdel El-Kaissouny announced in Cairo today, according to dispatches received here. He had just returned from visits to Washington and London.
The Egyptian Minister said at Cairo that his country’s share in the International Monetary Fund has been increased from $90,000,000 to $120, 000, 000. He also told newsmen in the UAR capital that a World Bank mission will come to his country soon to study his government’s development plan, preliminary to arrangements for a loan.
