A proposal to form a world organization of teachers of Hebrew was approved here today at an international conference of Hebrew school teachers with 350 delegates from all parts of the world in attendance.
The proposal was put to the parley after a report by Dr. Shimon Pollack, president of the American Hebrew Teachers Association, which pointed out that the general low socioeconomic status of the profession had failed to attract young people. As a result, Dr. Pollack said, there was now a serious shortage of Hebrew teachers.
