A blue-print for large-scale vocational training Rumanian Jews was drawn up here by a conference attended by representatives of the ##nt Distribution Committee, the ORT, the OSE and the Ministries of Education and ##or. The conferees decided to set up a country-wide network of organizations to ##vide vocational training and retraining for about 8,000 Jews.
The conference was told that 50,000 Jews in the country do not have adequate ##ns of subsistence, in addition to 10,000 artisans who are unable to manage without asistance. The plan envisages vocational schools for youths and artisans cooperatives ## retraining courses for adults. The JDC will aid in financing the scheme.
