The United Jewish Refugee and War Relief Agencies is receiving cooperation of the military authorities in providing for the spiritual needs of Jewish internees, the relief body stated today.
Purin is being celebrated in internment camps, with “megillahs” and delicacies furnished through the UJR and WRA, and arrangements have been made to ship supplies for Passover ceremonies. In addition, kosher meat is supplied by the authorities to observant internees.
“To all relatives and friends of the interned refugees who are anxious about the internees’ spiritual welfare and worried lest their religious duties be neglected, assurance is given that the United Jewish Refugee and War Relief Agencies, with the consent and cooperation of the military authorities, will continue as it has in the past to provide what is necessary so that precepts of our faith may be adhered to.”
