A hundred and five scheduled court actions between General Zionists and Revisionists have been withdrawn from the courts of Castoria, following the intervention of Chief Rabbi Koretz.
The suits were an outgrowth of a clash between the two groups on April 7, when, at a meeting in the synagogue, the Revisionists insisted upon explaining the political program of their leader, Vladimir Jabotinsky. Rioting which ensued continued for over an hour and resulted in the wounding of fifteen persons and the arrest of the group leaders.
Although the cases have been withdrawn, the Revisionist organ Boz Sionista states that the police have charged Joseph Albala, who is president of he Castoria kehilla, and his brother Maurice both General Zionists, with having knocked out the eye of Haim Elian, a Revisionist. Maurice Albala is a soldier and has been given a forty day sentence by the military tribunal. Rabbi Koretz has been urged to intervene on his behalf with the governor general of Salomca.
