In view of the criticism of the manner of casting of animals in connection with schechita, a Leeds Jew, Harris Weinberg, has patented an apparatus which does away with away with the necessity of casting. The animal is placed in a compartment within a box and is immediately in position for schechita with its head protruding. The compartment revolves making the slaughter possible and obviating the violent act of casting.
