A study of conditions at the Polish refugee camp in Mexico has just been completed by a special investigator assigned to the task by the Polish Government-in-Exile following the charges of persecution of Jews by fellow refugees.
The investigation was conducted by Emmanuel Freyd, one of the Polish Government’s delegates to the recent conference of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration at Atlantic City. Freyd, it was learned, is on his way back to Washington after having conveyed authorization to the Polish Legation to request the Mexican Government to punish renewed outbreaks of anti-Semitic persecution by transferring those responsible to the Nazi internment camp at Perote. It is understood that Freyd will report his findings to the Office of Foreign Relief and Rehabilitation in the State Department, which helps maintain the camp.
