Ira Guilden, chairman of the board of directors of the Trade Bank and Trust Company and the Title Guaranty and Trust Company, returned yesterday from a study of economic conditions in Israel with a report that the young Middle East nation “offers Americans one of the finest investment opportunities in the world. ” Mr. Guilden headed an eleven-man commission of New York business and civic leaders in making the survey at the invitation of Prime Minister Moshe Sharett of Israel.
In a statement issued following his arrival, Mr. Guilden, who is chairman of the Greater New York Committee for State of Israel Bonds, declared his study convinced him that the development of Israel as a major industrial center in the Middle East “is being carried out on the soundest financial basis.”
