Iran’s state-run television station claimed that the “Zionist lobby” was behind the Watergate affair. The report, which aired on the Iranian news channel IRINN on May 16 and was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, attributed President Nixon’s downfall to a “major political coup carried out by the Zionist lobby.”
