A restatement of the fact that the Iraq Government has no intention of making peace with Israel was made by Iraq Premier Jamilel Madfai yesterday, it was reported here today in dispatches from Baghdad.
The Premier declared: “I can assure you that the Iraq Government has not negotiated anything with Israel before and will never do so in the future. In fact, no one in a responsible position among the Iraqi people even thinks of negotiating anything with Israel.”
(Although Iraqi troops were among the invading Arab forces in Israel in 1948, Iraq never entered the armistice negotiations with Israel because it surrendered its position in Central Palestine to Jordan units which still hold them.)
