Jews of Iraq have disclaimed any sympathy or political connection with their co-religionists of the Zionist movement in Palestine, according to an announcement by the Chief Rabbi of Bagdad, it was reported by the Havas News Agency.
Speaking in the name of 100,000 Iraq Jews, the Chief Rabbi said: “We are repudiating any connection with Zionism either inside or outside Palestine. We are Iraq patriots heart and soul and are sharing our national sentiments with our Iraq brothers.”
