Iraqi athletes will not shun the Israeli delegation at the Athens Olympics. “I want to send a clear message to the Israeli people: It does not matter if you are Israeli, Palestinian or Iraqi, each of us has the basic right to live,” Ahmed Al-Samarrai, president of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, told Israel’s Yediot Achronot newspaper on Tuesday. “We have no problem meeting the Israelis. This is sport, not politics.”
