Anti-Zionist and anti-Jewish feeling is running dangerously high in the Kingdom of Iraq (Mespotamia). The Manchester Guardian, liberal English newspaper, reported today.
The Iraqui government has placed a wholesale ban on all Jewish newspapers and Hebrew books entering the country and is also confiscating non-Jewish newspapers from the United States, Great Britain and France if they carry stories favorable to Jews, the paper reported.
Even religious books addressed to the Chief Rabbi of Bagdad were confiscated, the Guardian stated.
