An Irishman from County Cork will have one of the principal roles, that of Nahum, in the Hebrew opera, “The Pioneer,” which will be sung in its world premier at Mecca Temple on Sunday night. His name is David Healy, he is thirty-five and he sings in eleven languages.
” ‘The Pioneer’ is an amazing story of life and love,” he said yesterday. He feels deeply the spirit and moods of the opera, he declared. Depicting the life of the young workers in Palestine, “The Pioneer” is the work of Jacob Weinberg.
