Asserting that those active in the musical world are the first to realize how untenable is any attempt to divide people on the basis of race and religion, Irving Berlin voiced the protest of the musical world yesterday against the persecution of Jews in Germany in a letter to Nathan Burkan, chairman of the Amusement Division of the United Jewish Appeal.
Berlin’s letter contained his acceptance of the co-chairmanship of the “Night of Stars” Production, which will be presented September 30 at the Yankee Stadium under the sponsorship of the United Jewish Appeal for German Jewish relief.
