The appointment of Irwin Rosen as executive director of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, central fund-raising and distribution agency for 25 affiliated health and welfare institutions, was announced here today by Hugh Grant Strauss, president of the Federation.
Mr. Rosen was formerly the director of the Transmigration Bureau of the American Joint Distribution Committee. Prior to that he served this organization as a member of its European Executive Council in Paris and was in charge of the Amsterdam office supervising the agency’s program in the then countries of refuge, including France, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxemburg. He is a graduate of Harvard, class of 1925 and received his M.A. from Columbia University in 1931.
