Isaac Wolf Metchik, former editor of a London Jewish dally newspaper, died here yesterday at the age of 103.
Mr. Metchik who was born in Russia, lived in Poland then moved to England where he remained for 40 years before coming to the United States. While in Britain he published a Hebrew weekly, “Hatzophe,” and established and edited a Yiddish daily, “The Jewish Advertiser. ” He retired at the age of 98 from the post of executive secretary of the Hebrew Day Nursery of New York, a job he had held for 36 years.
