Isaac Van Grove, conductor of the Chicago Civic Opera Company and well-known for his success with the spectacular type of production, has been apopinted director of the pageant of Jewish life entitled “Romance of a People”, that is to be given as a part of the Jewish Day celebrations at the Century of Progress in Chicago on July 3.
The stage setting that has been designed for “Romance of a People” will be distinguished by the lavish and spectacular use of color. It will be color “painting” by means of light. Oman and Lienthau, Chicago architects, Paul Bachelor and Mr. Van Grove have worked together on the designing of the stage settings.
