Isaiah Rabinovich, Hebrew Writer, Dead at 69

Dr. Isaiah Rabinovich, educator, Hebrew writer and labor Zionist, died here at the age of 69. He was for many years principal of the Toronto Farband Folk School and later a faculty member of the College of Jewish Studies in Chicago before retiring. Dr. Rabinovich received his doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. He was the author of several books on Hebrew letters: Hasifrut Bemashber Hador (Literature in the Crisis of our Generation), Yetzer V’tzirah (Impulse and Creativity), Ner Dolek (A Burning Candle) and B’Hevley Doram (Studies in Hebrew Literature of the 1920’s and 1930’s). He received the Louis Lamed Prize in 1947. He is survived by his son Solomon Rabinovitch, a physician.
