Isi Leibler refused to leave his post as senior vice president of the World Jewish Congress. In a letter Sunday to the European Jewish Congress, a copy of which was sent to JTA, Leibler accused the European body of bowing to pressure by WJC governing board chairman Israel Singer and chief operating officer Stephen Herbits, whom Leibler claimed tried to ostracize him after he asked for an independent audit of WJC finances.
