Hafez Ismail, President Anwar el Sadat’s advisor on national security affairs, held talks on the Middle East crisis in Bucharest today with Rumanian President Nicolae Ceausescu, the Rumanian News Agency, “Agerpres,” reported. Ismail conveyed to Ceausescu a message of “warm friendship and cordial congratulations” from Sadat.
Rumania is the only Communist Warsaw Pact nation maintaining diplomatic relations with Israel. Last year. Ceausescu, who is also the General Secretary of the Rumanian Communist Party, hosted Premier Golda Meir. From Bucharest, Ismail will fly to Belgrade for similar talks on the Middle East conflict with Yugoslavian officials.
