Increased United Nations appropriations for technical assistance were advocated here today by Israel. Miss Hava Hareli, Israel representative on the General Assembly’s Economic and Financial committee, declared that higher allocations would be Justified “in view of the real need which had been shown by requests for aid.”
“The UN technical assistance projects in Israel,” Miss Hareli declared “have been carried out successfully, with Israeli personnel taking over from experts previously provided by the United Nations.” The Israeli delegate pointed out that in recent years, Israel has contributed an increasing number of experts to aid technical assistance programs in other countries.
